1 In the beginning God created heaven and the earth.

2 The earth, without form, was void; darkness laid in the depths. And the mirage of God shimmered upon the liquid ripples of space and time.

3 Yet God said, Let there be light: and it was so.

4 God in sight, judged that light was good, dividing it from the darkness.

5 He called this first light Day, and the darkness Night. And thus, evening and morning were born.

6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the cosmos, dividing rivers of time from oceans of matter.

7 God made this pearl, dividing the matter above, from those below: and it was so.

8 God called this firmament Heaven while the evening and the morning were the second day.

9 And God said, Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together unto one place, let the arid land appear: and it was so.

10 And God called this land Earth; and the torrent of waters became the Seas: and God, in time, judged that it was good.

11 God said, Let earth bring forth grass, herb yield seed, and tree yield fruit bearing divinity, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

12 The earth brought forth grass, herb yielded seed after his kind, and the tree bore fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his light: and with time, God saw that it was good.

13 Now, the evening and the morning were the third day.

14 God said, Let stars glimmer within the vaulted pearl of heaven, carving day from night and charting signs, seasons, days, and years.

15 These celestial beacons flared to life, casting their glow across the world below.

16 He fashioned two sovereign orbs—the sun to reign by day, the moon to govern the night—and spread the sky with the countless sparks of stars.

17 He anchored them in the firmament, raining their radiance upon every valley and peak.

18 Charged with mastery of light and darkness, they held their watch—and God beheld their vigil and deemed it good.

19 Thus evening yielded to morning, marking the close of the fourth day.

20 Next, God bade the ocean depths to teem with living motion and called on winged creatures to sail the open firmament.

21 In response, vast leviathans surged from the abyss, shimmering shoals danced in the currents, and flocks of wondrous birds filled the sky—God observed their chorus and deemed it good.

22 He blessed them: Be fruitful, multiply, and let sea and sky resound with your myriad forms.

23 And so evening waned into morning, and the fifth day came full.

24 Turning to the land, God commanded, Let beasts of every kind emerge—cattle, wild creatures, creeping multitudes—each after its own design.

25 Earth obeyed: her pastures heaved with livestock, her forests prowled with beasts, her soil writhed with crawling life—God surveyed it all and found it good.

26 Then God spoke, Let us craft humankind in our image, our likeness, entrusting them with stewardship over fish, fowl, cattle, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.

27 So he molded humanity—male and female—in the image of divine form.

28 And God blessed them, Be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, and subdue it: have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.

29 And God said, Behold, upon the face of Earth, I have given you every herb bearing seed, every fruit bearing tree, in the which yields seed; to you it shall be for.

30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given you every green harvest: and so it was.

31 God saw every thing that he had made, satisfied, it was very good, all while the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
